Polystichum polyblepharum is a dependable and hardy variety that looks great with Carex, Heuchera, and other ferns. The green, glossy fronds have fuzzy stems and lend an elegant touch to the shady garden. In warmer zones it is evergreen. A wonderful fern that works well in a shade border. Also known as Polystichum setosum.

Grow in full shade with lightly dappled sun. Prefers moist, acidic soils that are well-drained, especially in winter. Provide water in summer if soil becomes dry. In spring, cut down any winter-damaged foliage.
