Golden Creeping Jenny is an easy, fast-growing ground cover that looks great in containers as well. The foliage is yellow-green and slightly rounded with an abundance of bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers appearing in the early summer. The color will be brighter yellow with more sun, and more lime-green in shadier sites. Excellent groundcover in wet areas, as it will root at the joints where it touches the ground. Tolerates light foot traffic. Add a splash of zing to your flower beds or hanging baskets!

Homeowner Growing Tips

Lysimachia thrives in full sun or partial shade. It prefers consistently moist soil, especially during the summer heat. Before planting, amend the soil with compost. In hot climates, provide some afternoon shade to prevent excessive heat stress.

If the plant starts to spread where it’s not desired, you can trim it back whenever you like. In the fall after the frost or early spring, trim the plant to a few inches off the ground.

Watering requirements: Water the soil thoroughly and keep it fairly moist.

Vibrant, Vigorous, and Versatile – A Must-Have for Containers

I added Goldilocks Creeping Jenny to my summer planters, and it’s been outstanding. The bright chartreuse foliage cascades beautifully over the edges, adding contrast and a touch of whimsy. It established quickly and hasn’t stopped thriving—even in the heat. I appreciate how it plays well with other plants without being aggressive. In indirect porch light it kept its color nicely, and the trailing habit really tied the whole arrangement together. Definitely a high-impact, low-maintenance spiller I’ll use again.
