Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow Red Hot Poker in full sun or partial shade. They prefer fertile, moist, well-drained, sandy soil. Amend with compost before planting. New plants should be mulched with leaves for the first winter. In spring, trim leaf tips to encourage new growth. Established clumps may be divided in late spring, but only after offshoots are at least two years old.
