Hemerocallis 'Ruby Spider' is an outstanding daylily! With its huge 9" ruby red flowers, nice height, and easy care this great variety quickly becomes a garden favorite. The flower petals are long and spoon shaped with a yellow throat and midrib.

Homeowner Growing Tips

Daylilies are easy, adaptable plants, reliable bloomers, and long-lasting perennials. Grow in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Once established, they are moderately drought tolerant. Provide ample sun & moisture to ensure optimum flowering. Apply granular fertilizer for flowering plants in spring, and a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-3 weeks through summer. Remove spent flower stalks & dead leaves on a regular basis. Divide every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.

Plants in excellent condition

I was a little worried when these plants arrived with many dying leaves (mid August), but the included letter stated that they were preparing for dormancy (company is in Michigan). I live in South Texas, so after I planted these in our 90+ degree heat, they started sprouting new leaves like crazy. These plants had wonderful root systems. Can't wait for them to flower!
