'Gigi™ Gold' is a gold two-tone decorative garden mum with an almost pompon flower. The rich golden buds open to a lighter golden bloom with a rich golden center. Plants are compact and have strong stems without the brittleness found in many other garden mums. Blooms late September in West Michigan. Garden mums add color in the fall when few other plants are in peak bloom. Great planted in the perennial garden and in containers on the front porch.

Homeowner Growing Tips

Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. Water well, keeping in mind that rain or overhead sprinklers may not get much water down past the thick foliage to the soil, especially in a container. For the best chance of perennializing garden mums, be sure to plant as early as possible, especially in colder zones. They are slow to root, so need plenty of time to establish themselves before the ground freezes or they can tend to heave out of the soil over the winter.

Are Mums Perennials or Annuals?

Chrysanthemums, commonly known as garden mums, can be perennial in the zones listed above.

However, we find that most mums do not perennialize and therefore, we consider them to be more of a cold tolerant annual.

Shipping and Delivery

Fall mums will begin shipping the week of September 2, 2024. If you would like your order to arrive later than that, you can request a specific shipping time in the order notes.

We do guarantee our plants to arrive in acceptable condition. If there are any issues upon delivery, please email support@romencegardens.com within 48 hours and we will resolve the issue.
