May develop reddish tones in the cool weather of autumn. This is a natural choice for borders and edging, for the rock garden, in mixed containers, or over walls in sunny spots. Native to Japan. This award-winning variety is another staff favorite for its chunky texture and multi-color contributions to the garden!

Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow in full sun, in well-drained soil. Does well in sandy or gravelly soils. Good for tucking between stepping stones, amongst rocks, or spilling over retaining walls. Cut back spent flower stems or dead foliage in late winter. Divide clumps every 3 years in spring, if desired.
