Iris cristata 'Powder Blue Giant' has very beautiful thin petals. Most parts of the petals surface are a very light purple/blue color that is almost white. In the wider center section of three petals there is a small spot with colors of white, yellow and purple. The flowers develop just slightly above the green foliage. This iris can adapt to different ranges of conditions from moist to dryer soil and some shade to full shade.

Homeowner Growing Tips

This iris is adaptable to different conditions ranging from moist to dryer soil. It also can handle some sun to full shade.

Deadhead spend blooms. Divide every few years. Cut back the foliage left in late fall, before winter to roughly just above the ground.

Water Requirements: Water soil fully, then let moderately dry out before next watering.
