Prairie Winds® 'Brush Strokes' is a compact little bluestem cultivar prized for its unique multicolored foliage and fiery fall display. This hardy native grass adapts well to sunny locations with average to dry soil, making it perfect for low-maintenance landscapes and pollinator gardens. Its fine texture and seasonal color shifts, add dynamic visual appeal from spring through winter. Native to North America.

Homeowner Growing Tips

In early spring cut back all old foliage a few inches off the ground, before new growth develops.

Can withstand many different soil conditions. But do not plant in soggy, waterlogged or constant moist soils.

Water Requirements: Water soil fully, then let mostly dry out between waterings. (once established)
