Decorative bronze foliage with a sweet licorice, nutty flavor. Young leaves have the most flavor. As they get older and the season becomes hotter they loose some of their flavor. Fennel leaves and flowers are great for adding to salads, sauces, egg & fish dishes. Can withstand light frosts. The seeds can be used in breads and teas.

I found 5 swallowtail eggs and needed more fennel. The plants were healthy and packed well. All 4 caterpillars used the plants, from small caterpillar to chrysalis. I didn’t have to worry about finding them fresh fennel. Thank you.

We've had a colder than average spring in Central VA. and so far I have transplanted the fennel twice...I am growing in containers. The root system has been excellent from the get-go and the plants are doing well and we are in mid/late-May.
