Notable Feature about this Vaierty, Alcea rosea 'Blacknight', is that it will come back year after year, for many years. Not like regular hollyhocks that only have a life span of two years, before reseeding (mixed results of new growth or nothing). Alcea rosea 'Blacknight' is a fantastic variety for the back of borders or cottage gardens. It produces single, black/purple flowers throughout the summer.
