Beautiful purple flowers appear in spring atop deeply dissected green foliage that is covered with silvery fuzz. Flowers are bell-shaped and give rise to silky seed heads that are quite attractive. It is an excellent clump-forming plant for rock gardens. Pulsatilla means "sway" in Latin, in reference to the flowers swaying in the wind. Pasque Flower is a French reference to Easter, which is when they are usually blooming.
