Cinnamon ferns grow in stately, vase-like clumps of brilliant green, lacy fronds with a graceful arch. Their spring growth begins with the emergence of cinnamon-colored fertile fronds that grow straight up in the center of the clump, followed soon after by the green vegetative fronds. Especially striking when planted in groups. Native to the eastern U.S.

Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow in moist, shady areas with humus-rich soil. Prefers mildly acidic soil. It has a fibrous root system that is good at preventing erosion on shady hills or streamsides.
