Cilantro is a fantastic herb that has a very distinctive flavor and aroma. The seeds of cilantro plants are called coriander and are used as a spice in many dishes. This quick-growing plant sets seeds fast, so it is a good idea to continually cut back for the best flavor. If using for coriander it is good to plant plants in succession. 'Santo' is a variety that is somewhat slower to bolt, or go to seed, than the classic variety.

Uses: Culinary, Aromatic

Homeowner Growing Tips

You may want to try growing your cilantro in partial sun rather than full sun to slow the bolting process and prolong the harvest. Replant seeds or new plants regularly to keep plenty of cilantro on hand.
