Not like regular hollyhocks that only have a life span of two years, before reseeding (mixed results of new growth or nothing). Alcea rosea 'Spotlight Sunshine' is a great choice for cottage gardens or the back of borders. The bright yellow flowers are single and appear on tall stems through the summer.

I got healthy plants but they did not thrive in my garden

I am giving 5 stars for the quality of plant I got. However, the extra humid weather, a ravenous army of rabbits and my refusal to apply fungicide did them in. If you have better luck with hollyhocks, this is a great place to buy from.
