Gorgeous plants

I ordered these for an antique raised planter that sits in my garden. They were shipped quickly and were gorgeous when they arrived. They have really taken off and were exactly what I was hoping for! Great experience and I will definitely be back for more.

Well grown

A well rooted plant that seamlessly transplanted into a waiting container with little root disturbance. Important in our triple digit heat. Any root disturbance and it can be too much of a strain from which it might not recover.

My strawberry drop coleus plant odyssey

I originally purchased the strawberry drop coleus a few years ago from Romance Gardens because it is very difficult to find in garden stores in the North East although other varieties of Proven Winners are plentiful.
Every year I plant many containers on the deck of my house in Massachusetts on the Island of Martha's Vineyard that include about 9 pots of a mixture of 5 plant varieties one of which is the already mentioned strawberry drop coleus.
I have tried substituting other coleus varieties for it but nothing quite looks as good, so I really baby my plants. and keep planting cuttings from the original Romance purchase. It is the only plant of mine that gets cut at the end of the season put into a bouquet and travels with me in my car to New York for a few months of root growing and then goes on a plane in my suitcase to Naples Florida where it is replanted in pots and enjoyed. When it is time to head North again it goes back in my suitcase on the plane, back to NY where it is sectioned into peat pots ready to plant and then eventually finds it's way back to Martha's Vineyard via car, then a ferry and back into the big pots on my deck.
Well this year the cycle was broken, and seriously it was about time.! I did all the things but I wasn't counting on varmints digging up all my freshly planted pots looking for grubs. This has NEVER happened in over 25 years of gardening. I think it was raccoons that that were the culprits, they left clear, dirty paw prints on the sides of my pots. I did my best to repot and clean up the mess every morning . Their favorite plant was of course my strawberry coleus the that I had kept going for several years. They returned every night for a week looking for MORE!
I decided to see if by chance Romance Nursery would ship to Martha's Vineyard, I don't know why I didn't think of this option before.! By the time the Raccoons had stopped digging through my pots I had 6 brand new strawberry coleus plants that arrived in perfect condition from Michigan. Not only were they well priced and shipped quickly, they arrive like cute little gifts in their own little wrappings! I am sold, I was thrilled and as long as they are available from Romence, I will be purchasing the coleus and many more plants in the future from them.
I was able to cobble together the equivalent of one plant from the remains of the original broken plant bits. It thrives and really makes me happy. But I learned my lesson and my Coleus yearly odyssey is over.

p.s. I also have a Christmas Cactus Odyssey story that originated from a cutting from my grandmother in Nova Scotia and now resides in new plants with my children from San Francisco to Boston and places in between.
Nobody dares let that one die and I do keep putting mine in the car and bringing it to Martha's Vineyard every summer. It doesn't however get to go to Florida, it spends the winter in NY with one of my kids.

Love It!

I'm not able to find this Coleus sp. at any of my local stores, or any trailing coleus at all. I purchased this plant from Romence last year, and I meant to propogate and overwinter but we moved and I lost it :-( So glad I'm able to buy it again this year! Romence shipped cross-country MI -> WA and plants always arrive in perfect condition. They have nailed the shipping process. :-) Thank you!

Smaller and not as full as the pictures depicted but hope it grows full and fast.

Strawberry Drop coleus

This is my first order. I'm very happy! First, this shipped quickly and only took a couple of days to arrive. Also, plants were packed so carefully and securely. These were packed so much better than other online sellers. These coleus are beautiful, just as described. They look very healthy. I can't wait to repot them. I will definitely order from Romence Gardens again!
