An excellent shade performer, Polygonatum biflorum commutatum, also known as Giant Solomon's Seal, boasts beautiful laddered green foliage with white blooms. After flowering, blue berries appear and last into late fall for extended interest. Solomon's Seal makes a beautiful and interesting backdrop for other woodland plants.

Grow in full or partial shade, in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Amend with compost before planting. May be slow to establish, but eventually forms a low-maintenance, slowly spreading clump. Cut old stems to the ground in early spring.
