Plants are routinely trimmed as part of proper plant maintenance. You may receive plants that have been trimmed. This will result in improved and better overall longevity, performance and appearance.

I was surprised at the packing job of the 6 Lupine's I ordered. Such an amazing job of packing that insured the plants arrived in excellent condition, and all in big containers held securely with loads of rubber bands that kept everything in place without harming the plants. When it came time to plant them, I noticed the roots were very healthy and quite extensive throughout the soil without being rootbound. That's because they were sent in large pots with plenty of soil to nourish the plants on their journey and beyond. I planted them around a bed that had been freshly prepared, and not long afterward was treated to one of the lupines blooming. I didn't think they would bloom at so young an age. Sadly, one of the six did not survive in the flower bed, although all were healthy upon arrival. It looks pretty dead, and I'm not expecting it to miraculously revive.
I welcome Romence Gardens' suggestions on how to correct this.
Both plants look healthy. There were no flowers but hopefully there will be yet this summer.
Lupinus is my favorite flower, was thrilled I was able to purchase Westcountry stock. Thank you!
