Homeowner Growing Tips

Calibrachoa do best in well drained soil. They prefer containers or raised beds. If the roots are kept too wet it can lead to root disease. Once they are established allow the top of the soil to slightly dry before watering again.

Fertilize them regularly. Look for something with an N-P-K ratio near 20-10-20 such as the Proven Winners water soluble fertilizer. This will help keep the foliage nice and green.

Calibrachoa respond very well to trimming. During the season if they begin to look a little leggy simply take a sharp scissors and trim them back to taste. This will promote increased branching resulting in thicker, fuller looking plants with more blooms.

Calibrachoa hybrid 'Superbells Doublette Love Swept'

Even tho I got these plants towards the end of April, it was not as early as I would have liked. It took all .summer for these flowers to fill out the hanging basket and now going into October, they are just now looking awesome. In contrast to all my neighbors who are throwing out their brown baskets, my Superbell Doublettes are green and blooming like crazy. I will be reordering them next spring, hopefully on April 1.

Calibrachoa Superbells Doublette “Love Swept”

I ordered these plants along with the Superbells “Double Blue”. The plants did arrive in good condition.
If I had known how TINY the blossoms were on either, I wouldn’t have ordered them . They are “dime” sized blossoms and though they are pretty, they are hard to see from any distance in my hanging planters.
Please consider adding the SIZE of the BLOSSOMS in your plant descriptions! It would be so helpful.
For this reason alone, I would not order these particular plants again.
