Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitt's Double' forms a dense, mound of lacy foliage that gives tall stems of lilac-pink flowers. Flowers appear in sprays in the summer and are quite showy and long-lasting. Think of it as Baby's Breath for shadier areas. This is a nice choice for perennial borders, meadows, or wildflower gardens. It also makes a great background plant. Try it against a fence or amongst other plants that will help support it.

Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow in dappled shade, in moist soil. Amend with compost before planting. Tolerates more sun with reliably moist soil; this may reduce the need for staking. Sprouts late in spring, so it may be a good idea to mark your plant to avoid disturbing the area. Every 2-3 years, divide in spring as new growth begins, and apply mulch. Not a good plant for hot, humid regions.
