Gorgeous flower spikes are held above the pinnately compound basal leaves. The red buds open into beautiful pale pink flowers in the summer. When the leaves first emerge they are reddish purple changing to green and in late summer they are a reddish-bronze. Perfect for moist areas, such as edges of ponds or streams. A great plant that has a lasting presence in the garden.
