Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow in full sun to light shade. Bearded Irises prefer well-drained, fertile, slightly alkaline to slightly acidic soils. Plant shallow, with top of rhizome exposed above the soil line. A light mulch may be used, if applied in a thin layer around the plants, but not covering the rhizomes. Keep moist while blooming. Fertilize with granular bulb food in early spring and after flowering; scratch into the top inch or two of the soil. Divide plants every three years, in August.

Superb quality!

Rhizome arrived promptly, well packaged and healthy with many leaves. Planted immediately (late April - zone 7) and it thrived beautifully yet no flowers (assume due to transplant shock) — happily surprised with 9 huge buds in mid-September and so very thrilled and delighted!!!
