Homeowner Growing Tips

Coral Bells prefer moist, well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil. Amend with compost before planting. They will take sun or partial shade, though afternoon shade is required in hot regions to prevent leaf scorch. In cold climates, mulch well, after the ground freezes. If the plants heave due to frost, carefully press back into place in spring. Heucheras generally need to be divided and replanted every 3 years, burying the woody rootstock and keeping the crowns above the soil surface.

Wild berry Heuchera

I ordered these the same time as the astilbe, but for some reason they came a day later. I was not home when they arrived, and FedEx left the box out in the Houston sun. So they are/were not in as good of shape as the astilbe was. The packing was great, and the plants are still alive, so hopefully all will be well. Everything on the nursery side was done well, just FedEx
