The Dianthus edgehog is a mounded-shaped evergreen perennial. It offers the garden composition a really fine and exquisite texture. The foliage is variegated; it has a blue green coloration. In the spring, the plant is adorned with hot pink, semi double flowers. The stems are perfect for cuttings. Suitable for use as an edger or in a rock garden. Butterflies find these flowers to be appealing. In the "spiller-thriller-filler" container combination, it is frequently used as a "filler".
