An immediate landscape classic! The only dark-leafed Astilbe with purple blooms available for purchase is called "Dark Side of the Moon." An exceptionally beautiful mound of foliage is formed by rich, deep chocolate-colored leaves. When leaves first emerge, they have a glossy shine and a dark border that gradually turns entirely dark as they get older. Raspberry buds on dark stems eventually bloom into rosy purple flowers.
