The flowers of Iris 'Butter and Sugar' are delicious with their creamy white standards, butter yellow falls, and greenish-yellow veins. The arching grass-like foliage moves gracefully in the garden. Prefers acidic, moist soils but will adapt to dryer soils because of its deep root system. Sometimes reblooms in the fall.

Homeowner Growing Tips

Siberian Irises are low maintenance and adaptable to most garden conditions. Grow in full sun to partial shade. They prefer moist, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soils. Amend with compost when planting. A light mulch may be used, if applied in a thin layer in spring. Fertilize with granular bulb food in early spring and after flowering; scratch into the top inch or two of the soil. Divide plants every three years, in early spring or late summer.
