Homeowner Growing Tips

Grow in full sun or partial shade (best flowering occurs with more sun). Climbing Honeysuckle prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Amend with compost before planting. Attaches by twining stems; tie to a trellis, fence, or other support structure to establish. Prune back to strong young growth immediately after flowering to control size of vine & encourage rebloom. Watch for aphids.

Drought hardy

I’ve grown this before and love it because it blooms all summer and the birds adore the flowers and also the subsequent red berries. My plants are growing, but did not bloom this year. Hopefully next spring they will, but we had an awful drought so who knows. It is a resilient and vigorous vine, so I think it won’t let me down. The plants I received were excellently packed and super healthy looking. Romence does a better job with packing and shipping than anyone.
