Caladiums are generally adaptable as houseplants where they prefer bright light or a sunny window.

Outdoors: Caladiums prefer heat and humidity and will not tolerate cold soggy soils well. Northern gardeners will have better results growing them in containers. For best growth keep the temperatures above 65 F.
