Wreaths are a quintessential part of the Christmas season. They bring elegance and charm to any home. Their aroma and iconic design are a staple that can not be missed in your Christmas decor. When choosing a lush evergreen wreath for your home keep in mind that it will require a little attention to keep them looking their best, as natural wreaths are only intended to be used temporarily.
Here at Romence Gardens we offer various options when it comes to the size and design of your wreath. Fresh wreaths are beautiful and fragrant, but they do require some attention to ensure they last throughout the season. Here’s how to keep them fresh:
Keep Them Hydrated
Fresh wreaths will keep their green color for longer if they are kept moist. If the wreath is keep outside in a dry or sunny area it is best to lightly mist the wreath every couple days.
Protection against their environment.
Sunlight and heat are not your wreaths friend. Direct sunlight and heat to a wreath will cause the greenery to dry out. This will cause the color to fade and the needles to shed. Consider placing your wreath in a cool or shaded area to maximize its longevity.
The winter weather can be rough. If a wreath is left to fend for itself exposed it may cause it to be soggy and loose its round shape. In order to prevent this it is best the wreath is placed under some shelter. The best example would be under your front porch roof.
Maintenance tips:
- You can rotate the wreath occasionally to prevent uneven fading and damage.
- If your wreath gets dusty you can brush away any dust or debris away with a soft bristle brush, you may blow away the dust with air too.
- Once the life cycle of your wreath has reached its end it is a good idea to compost it as the majority of the wreath is made from natural materials.
