Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in shade to part sun in average to moist, well drained soil; tolerant of alkaline soils & poor soils. Avoid rich soils; do not overfertilize. Deadheading may encourage additional blooming. Foliage may deteriorate with the heat of summer (or from sawflies or leaf miners), and may be cut to the ground at that point. May re-seed; scatter seeds in autumn after summer heat abates.

    This is impossibly beautiful and long blooming. It looks just like the picture. It is still blooming in shade zone 5.
