  • Large white flowers with purple-black centers
  • Gorgeous in cut flower arrangements
  • Lovely choice for a cottage garden or perennial border

Beautiful white blooms are atop wiry, green stems. The foliage is a rich green, serrated, and similar to thistle leaves. The center of the flowers has dark purple stamens and large, dark, velvety seed capsules. They are deer and rabbit resistant. An excellent long-lasting cut flower.

Uses: Borders, Cottage Gardens, Cut Flower
Nature Attraction: Hummingbirds
Critter Resistance: Deer, Rabbit

Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in full sun, in well-drained, fertile soil. Amend with compost before planting. Foliage will dry and turn brown after blooming, as these go dormant during the heat of summer; new leaves will appear in autumn, then resume growth in the spring. Mulch new plants for the winter. Oriental Poppies do best in cool climates; intolerant of hot, humid southern climates. May re-seed.
