Homeowner Growing Tips: These plants develop better flavor when not fertilized. Many sources suggest planting fennel away from other garden plants and do be aware that they are self-seeding, so you'll want to remove any flowers that form to prevent lots of new seedlings the next season. If using a container to grow fennel it will need to be quite deep, as it has a long taproot.
