Salvia nemorosa 'Rose Marvel'
Pot Size: 5.25 Inch Square Pot
The deep, intense color on this Salvia make other pink varieties look pale in comparison. Named for the way bumblebees and other pollinators swarm to this plant in droves, 'Bumbleberry' attracts the eye as well, with dark fuchsia pink flowers on wine purple calyxes above a petite habit of attractive foliage. Its cute size makes it perfect for the front of the border or for growing in containers.
Uses: Beds, Borders, Containers, Cottage Gardens, Cut Flower, Edging, Mass Planting, Rock Gardens
Nature Attraction: Bees, Butterflies, Hummingbirds
Critter Resistance: Deer, Rabbit
Notable Features: Fragrant Flowers & Foliage, Good Cut Flower; Fresh or Dried, Drought Tolerant
Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in full sun, preferably, or with partial shade in southern locations. Provide moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil; amend with compost before planting. Reasonably drought tolerant once established, though blooms best with regular watering. Removing faded flowers helps to encourage repeat blooming; or you can simply cut the whole plant back hard after flowering is complete. In spring, cut back to 3" high & apply a balanced granular fertilizer.
First time with this recent additional to the Salvia collection. Beautiful color and repeat bloomer after cutting back. Color from June through to fall frost!
