This plant attracts hummingbirds, bees and hummingbird moths like crazy. I’ve ordered several of these from Romence Gardens for 2 years in a row now and will continue to do so for as long as they have them available. The plants are packaged extremely well and arrive in perfect condition. I’m glad I have found a reliable source for these salvias.

I believe this is my 3rd year of ordering this particular salvia from Romence Gardens. On the small side when delivered, but in wonderful shape and healthy, they turn into large bushes over the summer that are covered in hundreds and hundreds of deep purple blossoms which my hummingbirds love. This is the reason why I keep buying this particular kind - the months of abundant blooms and that the hummingbirds just can't get enough of them. They will ignore the sugar water that's out as well and go straight for these. Communication and shipping has always been wonderful with this seller. This year especially I found the packaging to be the smartest for plants I've seen. Sturdy, protective and easy to take apart and recycle - best one in the market (I ordered a bunch of other plants from different sellers and none of the packaging came even close). I'll be back next year. Thank you!

I ordered several plants and when arrived, they were much bigger than anticipated. The packaging was very well done and each plant was protected. All are thriving.

Bought this to replace Black & Blue Salvia that always suffered broken branches in high winds. My hummers loved the plant. The color is somewhat iridescent--a touch of violet in the purple. Very attractive. Prefers a balanced fertilizer, such as 20-20-20 to a high phosphorus fertilizer. Really blooms heavily after July, although blooms don't last as long as Black & Blue. Stems aren't as thick as Black & Blue so no breakage from strong westerly winds. No disease issues. Still going strong in mid-October.
