Salvia Purple & Bloom
(1)
Pot Size: 4.5 Inch Pot
A big impact plant! It has a thicker leaf, bigger bloom, and darker stem than 'Black & Blue'. Tough as nails - thrives in heat, drought, and humidity. The desirable blue color against the black stem stands out in every landscape or container.
Uses: Combination Containers, Landscape
Nature Attraction: Hummingbirds, Butterflies
Critter Resistance: Deer
Notable Features: Heat & Drought Tolerant
Growth Habit: Upright

This plant has exceeded my expectations and then some. It grew tall (some up to 5 feet) and just as wide, so give it plenty of room. The color is a deep intense indigo blue. As of October 12 my black and bloom salvia is in full bloom. I deadheaded spent blooms a few times over the summer, and it immediately bloomed its heart out again and again. The best feature of all is how much the hummingbirds love this plant. They much prefer it to my feeders! This plant is a winner all around.
I decided to give "Black & Bloom" a try based on the description and I've been absolutely thrilled with it.
First of all, all the plants I received from Romence Gardens (this was my first order) were larger and healthier than any I've ever received from any other nursery.
These were blooming from the get-go and the plants grew larger and more prolific as the season progressed. As of this review, mid-Sept., they're huge! The Hummers go crazy for the blooms and visit this plant more frequently than any other plant in my yard, literally all day long.
Black & Bloom is an annual in my area so I sure hope Romence has them again next year and the next and the next for years to come. Thank you Romence Gardens!!
