Gorgeous flower spikes are held above the pinnatley compound basal leaves. The red buds open into beautiful pale pink flowers in the summer. When the leaves first emerge they are reddish purple changing to green and in late summer they are a reddish bronze. Perfect for moist areas, such as edges of ponds or streams. A great plant that has a lasting presence in the garden.

Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in partial shade, in moist soil. Can be grown in more sun, if kept reliably moist. Amend with compost before planting. Tolerant of drier soils in shady sites.
