The Hameln plants were delivered healthy and well packaged. Five months later, one plant has doubled in size; two plants have tripled in size. They add a graceful, airy look to my small garden without overpowering it like larger varieties.
Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln'
- Award winning variety with compact form
- Blooms earlier than the species
- Golden autumn color
Beautiful plant with finely textured leaves that look spectacular with the early morning or late afternoon sun. Tan flowers appear in mid-summer and are a great contrast to the rich green leaves. Has a shorter and more compact habit than other varieties. It is deer resistant and has great year round interest. This is a low maintenance plant that looks amazing when planted in masses.
