Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus'
Pot Size: 5.25 Inch Square Pot
This plant has fantastic variegated leaves of yellow and green that are in horizontal bands. The bands are irregularly spaced and seem to glow when hit by the early or late afternoon sun. This is a great grass that has excellent year round interest.
Height: 2 1/2 - 3 feet
Uses: Borders, Cut Flower, Lansdscapes, Mass Plantings, Rain Garden, Screening, Specimen
Critter Resistance: Deer
Notable Features: Drought-tolerant, Variegated foliage; Blooms: Fall, Winter
Homeowner Growing Tips: A very adaptable plant, and tolerant of most conditions, but prefers full sun and moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Some shade may be appreciated in hot climates. Cut close to the ground in late winter. This is also the time to divide, if necessary.
Survived being planted during 100F with 60mph winds. Romence Gardens plants are some of the few that survived. The taller grasses were damaged by the wind, but I cut them all back and they are growing back nicely!
