  • Improved compact form with heavy flowering
  • Flowers are a rich blue & appear all summer
  • Great to cut for bouquets or to dry for potpourri

This strain of lavender has grey-green foliage with rich, deep blue flower spikes on short stems. 'SuperBlue' boasts excellent winter hardiness and tolerance to heat and humidity. Lavender is a low-growing shrub native to the Mediterranean, loved for its fragrance, texture, and color. Semi-evergreen.

Uses: Borders, Containers, Rock Gardens
Nature Attraction: Butterflies, Bees
Critter Resistance: Deer, Rabbit
Notable Features: Heat & Drought Tolerant, Evergreen, Fragrant, Cut Flower
Growth Habit: Mounding

Homeowner Growing Tips: Lavender requires full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Mulch only with gravel and avoid organic mulches, which can hold too much moisture and lead to rot. In early-mid spring, trim back flowered shoots just to within 1/2" to 1" of the previous year's growth, and remove any dead material. Trim tips lightly again after flowering. To harvest for drying, cut the flowers before the buds are fully open.

Arrived as a strong healthy plant, Planted in a new north facing bed in poorly draining clay soil. Grew well despite conditions. Looks healthy and hopefully will come back next year, but it is in a terrible position!
