Geranium sanguineum 'Max Frei'
(9)
Pot Size: 5.25 Inch Square Pot
'Double Bloody Mary' produces an abundance of bright fire engine red flowers on wiry stems above the foliage. The fuzzy, medium green foliage forms a nice low mat. This is an underused perennial. In southern regions, protection from the hot afternoon sun will improve the look and health of the foliage.
Uses: Borders, Cottage Gardens, Edging, Groundcover, Mass Planting
Growth Habit: Mounding
Homeowner Growing Tips: Prefers moist, well-drained soils. Geums should be regularly divided every two to three years; young or newly divided plants bloom longer and stronger than older ones. Deadheading will promote re-bloom for a longer flowering time.
Arrived as a strong healthy plant, Planted in a new north facing bed in poorly draining clay soil. Looked happy and long blooming (with intermittent dead heading) Has grown well this season and hopefully will come ack next year, but it is in a terrible position!
