These elegant, towering spikes of incredibly deep purple flowers make for a jaw-dropping focal point for the back of the perennial border. These New Zealand Hybrids are bred for their strong stems, excellent form, and vigorous growth. The flowers are frilly and double formed.

Homeowner Growing Tips: Removing spent flower stalks may encourage rebloom and prevents all the plant's energy from going to seed production. Leave some stalks to seed for future generations of plants. Plant in rich, well-draining soil and provide regular feeding and watering.

Five of these have been in the ground since April 2020. Now that they've had a little time, height is consistent, and no staking required. Clearly a seed strain; each plant shows a slightly different color, from dark purple to dark cobalt blue. Only downside is that they are covered in mildew in our foggy climate. Growing next to several 'Black Knight'; 'Pagan Purples' performs better but gets more mildew.
