Bergenia has many potential applications in the landscape. It can be utilized in containers and rock gardens, but its most spectacular usage is as a hardy, evergreen groundcover. It also performs nicely as an edging or filler plant in flower borders, softening the rough edges of concrete.

Uses: Beds, Borders, Containers, Mass Plantings, Rock Gardens
Nature Attraction: Butterflies, Hummingbirds
Critter Resistance: Deer, Rabbit
Notable Features: Good Cut Flower, Evergreen
Growth Habit: Low, slowly spreading

Grows best in part sun/part shade, in well-drained soil amended with compost. Avoid hot spots and keep moist. Mulch in autumn; trim out dead leaves in spring. Divide every 3-5 years after blooming, to rejuvenate.
