These fall-blooming Asters put on a fine fall show that lives up to their clever name. Their lilac-blue color is just what's needed in the perennial border, providing a lovely late season contrast when the garden and trees turn to oranges, golds, and reds. Plants form relatively low mounds, with every inch covered in daisy-like flowers on finely textured green foliage. Asters make excellent cut flowers and they also attract butterflies.

Uses: Landscapes, Borders, Containers, Rock Gardens
Nature Attraction: Butterflies
Critter Resistance: Rabbit
Notable Features: Cut Flower, Deadheading Not Necessary
Growth Habit: Upright

Homeowner Growing Tips: This variety is low maintenance and grows in a lovely bushy habit all on its own, but pinching plants before July will keep them especially low and compact. Most Asters will be troubled much less with powdery mildew when grown in a moist, rich soil.
