Asclepias incarnata 'Cinderella' is a butterfly magnet! Rose-pink flowers bloom in midsummer to early fall. After the flowers have finished blooming interesting seed pods are produced that open to expose seeds with long, silvery-white, silky hairs. The milkweeds are very important food sources for both larval and adult butterflies, making them some of the most sought-after plants here in our garden center! U.S. native.

Nature Attraction: Bees, Butterflies, Hummingbirds, Pollinators
Critter Resistance: Deer, Rabbits
Notable Features: Cut Flower, Fragrant, Tolerates Wet Sites, Native
Growth Habit: Upright, Spreads via rhizomes

Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in full sun, in moist to wet soils. Very good for low spots or perpetually damp areas. Adaptable to clay soils as well as average or well-drained soils in many garden environments. Apply a layer of mulch to help keep them moist in summer, and prevent plants from heaving in winter. Since they sprout late in spring, mark their area so as to avoid disturbing them before they emerge. Deadhead after flowering to encourage more blooms about a month later.

If aphids appear, dislodge them with a strong stream of water, or spray with soapy water; avoid using pesticides!

Pink milkweed is a little harder to find and these were healthy good sized plants.
