Known as a stemless plant, Asarum canadense creates a unique groundcover that few other plants can match. The magnificent maroon blooms appear below the foliage and are seldom seen unless you know what to look for. Since the blooms are hidden this plant is grown mainly for its heart-shaped foliage. Canadian wild ginger is a dense groundcover that naturalizes well.

The leaves may cause skin irriation for some people.  Handle with care.
