- Lots of flowers when many other perennials are done blooming
- Rich red color with a speckled yellow throat
- The more you cut, the more it blooms!
Loads of bold red flowers with yellow throats bloom throughout the summer atop a mound of soft, green foliage. This is a quintessential flower for cut arrangements, and regular cutting and deadheading greatly prolong flower production. Plant these in combination containers or in the landscape for a bold pop of color. You will be charmed by the exotic perfection of this beauty by itself or amongst other summer-blooming flowers.

Homeowner Growing Tips: Hardier than most; overwinters well here in Zone 5. Alstromeria prefers to be grown in evenly moist, well-drained, rich humus, but it will tolerate drier soils. Choose a sheltered site in either full sun or partial shade. The base of a south or west-facing wall would make an excellent site. Don't worry if it comes up later in spring than your other perennials - this is normal for Alstromeria. It grows quickly once it emerges to make up for its late start. Mulch with organic material in the winter to prevent frost heaving.
