Polygonum aubertii
(1)
Pot Size: 5.25 Inch Square Pot
Pretty purple flowers give off a scrumptious chocolate fragrance. Blue-green leaves are a wonderful contrast to the flowers and are in palm-like leaflets consisting of 3 to 5 leaves. The plant should be pruned very hard in the spring, after flowering, to control growth.
Uses: Trellis and Arbors
Critter Resistance: Deer
Notable Features: Fragrant
Growth Habit: Climbing Vine
Homeowner Growing Tips: Plant in well-draining soil with average to dry moisture levels.
First time planting these vines in the PNW. Late start and then cold fall arrived. Still growing strong, but slow. I expect continued growth throughout the temperate winter. Next spring will be the bounce .
I was impressed both by the care that went into the packaging and the health of the plants. All three arrived healthy. I will most certainly consider Romance for future purchases.
